As a dog photographer, these are 12 gorgeous dogs that I photographed in 2025.

The relationship between dogs and their surroundings is shown in my artwork in a personal manner. Every picture depicts a dog living in balance with its environment, whether it's a field blanketed in purple heather or a magical woodland. The light and colour combine to provide a surreal, almost fairytale-like ambiance.

I'm fortunate to get to meet incredible dog models in the most breathtaking locations as a professional dog photographer. Another year full of wonderful memories that I was able to enjoy with them was 2024.

Echo Of Light

Nature is a major source of inspiration for me as a dog photographer, and I like to highlight the relationship between dogs and their surroundings. When I first started dog photography, I mostly took close-up portraits of dog models, with little of the surrounding area visible. Although the portraits captured the beauty of the dog, I occasionally felt that the way I actually looked at the location and how it made me feel wasn't really conveyed in the picture, so I started to include more of the surroundings, eventually.

For my dog photo shoots, choosing and setting up locations is a painstaking but worthwhile process. Every spot is picked not just for its aesthetic value but also for how well it captures the character and vitality of the dog I'm shooting. Subconsciously, I always look around for potential locations, no matter where I go. Having my own dog, Nanuq, by my side also motivates me to go out and explore. After all, she was the reason I started with dog photography in the first place.

Since I mostly work with natural light, part of my preparation frequently involves figuring out the ideal time for the shot. I consider the dog when I look at the spot, speculating about how they could move about or posture there. What makes the procedure most enjoyable and comfortable for each dog is crucial to capturing their unique characteristics. Some dogs respond well to a simple instruction to pose at a certain location. Other dogs require a more fun approach that allows them to explore and express who they are. The dog ultimately determines how the final photograph will appear, even if I may have a specific concept in mind.
